Lake Mary has been ranked by CNN as the # 1 Best Place to Live in Florida and the # 4 city in the U.S. It is located in Central Florida abutting Longwood and Sanford in Seminole County straddling I-4 (a major thoroughfare reaching from Tampa, on Florida's West Coast to Daytona Beach on its East Coast). Lake Mary, which is an actual lake, was named for the wife of Major William Randolph.
